Fabricated from stainless steel and taking its form from a perfect cube, a universally accepted symbol of truth, the International Asbestos Memorial stands in memory of all those recognised and the many more unrecognised, at home and abroad, who have died from an asbestos-related disease. For that reason the memorial is dedicated to all those known and unknown.
Unveiled on 30th May 2015, the memorial is located in the public realm space Truth and Justice Square, Clydebank, Scotland.

While asbestos is a material generally associated with the past, it's deadly affects are more present today than ever before as increasing numbers of people are diagnosed with an asbestos related illness. Many of whom never worked with asbestos but were exposed to it in the home or work envirmenent such as schools and hospitals.
